Last week the UK suffered from two foot floods as a result of heavy rainfall - this story was covered by several different newspapers as they reported that the heavy rainfall was caused by the superstorm jet stream from Hurricane Joaquin in the Bahamas. Many highways were seriously hit, causing travel chaos on the motorways as many lanes were completely flooded:

The weather even caused the Bradford football team to cancel their football match last week due to unplayable conditions. Many homes were damaged and even more were threatened by rainfall that was expected for the days following.
