Effective Meeting Skills - Courtney Associates

Not all meetings are easy to concentrate in or easy to engage people in. Courtney Associates run a course for In House training to turn "boring meetings into effective meetings". Their Effective Meetings Course is aimed at managers and team leaders who are involved in leading, chairing, organising and managing meetings.

There are many programme topics that are covered in this one day course including:
  • The component parts of an effective meeting
  • The “roles” participants can take on at meetings
  • Managing group behaviours and group dynamics
  • Managing dysfunctional behaviour at meetings
All these topics will help you to gain the skills needed to engage those in your meetings more and have them leave thinking "that meeting was useful" rather than "what a waste of time".

There are 4 parts to this course, with topics within them, some of which are included below to give you an idea of what is included.
  • Introduction to the Field of Meetings
    • The purposes of Meetings
    • Formal and informal Meetings
  • Planning and Structuring Effective Meetings
    • An opportunity for participants to understand the key elements of planning and
structuring any formal / informal Meeting. The session would also consider how this
theory applies to the specific Meetings participants’ chair.
  • Leading Meetings Effectively
    • The role of the Chairperson
    • The skills of leading Meetings
    • The skills of Facilitation
    • Turning a “group” into a cohesive working team
  • Skills Practice
    • There would be an opportunity for participants to practice many of the skills, tools and techniques discussed by way of some simulated “Meetings” exercises and to receive feedback on their performance.
The cost of their training includes everything in the diagram below plus a free initial face to face consultation meeting to determine your specific requirements.

"I'm late, I'm late"

Time management is key in the world of business. Being able to attend work, meetings and interviews on time, as well as being able to work to deadlines. For some people, this is easy to do. They thrive working to deadlines and are never late. Not even to social occasions. However, some people struggle with time management. Finding it too easy to procrastinate, sometimes for longer than you think, struggling to arrive on time and sometimes struggling to keep on top of your  workload.

This is where Courtney Associates can help you and your employees. Courtney Associates run a one day time management course, where you can send 1 person or your whole team where they will do “in-company training". Lunch and refreshments are included in the course fees and each participant will receive, workbooks, a certificate which shows they have attended and contact details so they can receive further consultations with your trainer once you have returned to work.

During the course a range of topics are covered, including, “Defining Time”, “Managing Time”, “Practical Tools & Techniques to get the most out of your job and your life” and “Managing Other People’s Impact on your Time”. Each topic looks at a number of issues which you may find impacts your time management and how you can overcome them to have better time management skills. Each participant during this one day course will get to create a practical and personal action plan which they can enforce in their workplace.

The course is run by Tom Courtney. He has 27 years of experience delivering a comprehensive range of Training and Development interventions throughout the UK and internationally to a variety of clients. How to boost your sales skills this summer!

I have worked in sales for around 6 years on the telephones so I know first hand how soul destroying this job can be and how demanding. When you cant seem to get a sale but your whole team have one each you feel totally inadequate, pressured and genuinely unhappy with your job, as though you have let your team down and yourself, this is when it gets worse. I found that the more I worried about not getting a sale the worse my sales became and my confidence in the end was shattered.

I found myself at this stage in quite a number of my sales jobs, I found that I would do really well to start with and then my sales figures would decline more and more the longer I stayed there. Some of my jobs I worked for agreed to put me through extra sales training which really did help and got me back up to where I needed to be, especially with my confidence. Some businesses however will not provide on-going and additional training, instead after a prohibition period and you have not reached your sales targets you will be let go.

To stop this from happening and to allow you to fulfill your full potential as a sales agent, why not try a sales training course which will cover practically everything you need to know about sales including different tactics and methods, how to plan your pitches, how to take control over the situation in hand, how to make the most out of a situation, how to apply yourself to your audience and more.

Courtney Associates provide a delivering winning sales pitches training course in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, London and Birmingham which is over a 2 day course. Visit Courtney Associates Sales Training Course today to find out more about this inspiring and effective course.

Why on-going training is crucial to success

"The more more that you read, the more things that you will know. The more that you learn the more places you'll go" Dr Seuss.

We tend to find that many adults who have been in the same job role for a long period of time become complacent, they feel as they do not need to learn anything else and they are more then happy to carry on in their roles with no progress and no extra work, but along with this complacent mindset comes negativity and before you know it you hate your role because its the same thing day in day out, with no reward at the end of it.

When one strives to be better, works harder for a better role, or for recognition they sure as hell deserve it! This is why on-going training is crucial to success within the workplace, if you are able to demonstrate you want to learn and you want to be more successful in your role not only will your boss and managers reward you but you are also rewarding yourself! You have will have nobody to thank but yourself for your success, you seen an opportunity, you worked for it and you got it by yourself! There is no greater satisfaction then that accomplishment.

The four key benefits to on-going business training are:

  • You get excel in the workplace
  • You start to realise your full potential
  • You will be able to perform at your most optimum level
  • You will receive the recognition and rewards you deserve

If you;re thinking about going for a business training course visit www.courtney-associates.co.uk who have been awarded 5* for their training courses and have 5* reviews from all their previous learners.
