The Risk of Plastic Surgery Abroad | UK Hair Transplants

The number of Britons choosing to go abroad for their plastic surgery has increased by 109% in the past 2 years. This means that more and more people are putting themselves at risk each year. An in-depth report by Leeds University found that up to 16.5% of patients who choose to go abroad for their surgery experience complications post and sometimes even during surgery.

Khalid chose to go to Turkey to save £4,000 on a hair transplant. Not only was the surgery done with practically no consultation, but the results afterwards were extremely disappointing to say the least and what's worse: completely unfixable.

2 Years Post Surgery
Khalid paid £2,000 for what he thought was going to be 4,000 grafts. He came in for a further consultation with UK Hair Transplants and not only was it clear visually that this was not the case, but as one of our surgical assistants, Paul, said 'It took less than 6 hours, there was no way physically could that many grafts be extracted and implanted.'

Khalid said he was in complete shock when he found out he needed a further 4,000 grafts as very little had taken. He was not only at a 2,000 loss, but it would not even be possible to go through with further surgery as the donor area had been completely ruined by scarring caused by the inexperienced low-cost surgeons. By saving himself £4,000 Khalid had not only lost his money, but completely lost the chance to get his hair back.

It is in each and every persons interest to only book any surgical treatments within the UK for their own safety. Plastic surgeons in the UK have to be strictly monitored and specifically qualified for plastic surgery. Not only do they under-go years of training before they begin practice, but are regularly monitored and have to have carried out an excess of 2,000 surgical procedures to be considered 'highly qualified'.

If you agree to having plastic surgery or any type of treatment abroad, you are opening yourself up to a large amount of possible problems. These range from stories such as patients being completely unable to find or contact the surgeons again, to being offered no help after the surgery has gone wrong and it is near impossible to take legal action.

Have peace at mind by coming to one of the UK's leading hair transplant specialists. Contact UK Hair Transplants.
