Crime in Manchester - Protect Your Business/Property/Venue



For business owners, those who work in public buildings and venues and all homeowners across Manchester we would like to inform you on some of the crime that has taken place this year alone so you're more aware, cautious and can take the correct measures to ensure the safety of your assets, home, staff or customers.

On April the 1st at 6:37pm, Manchester Evening News reported that thieves smashed their way into a Denton Primary School and stole over £100,000 worth of equipment. The broke into the Linden road academy and took 14 iPad mini tablets along with 6 laptops.

On May the 19th at 1:25pm Manchester Evening News reported that an 82 year old lady was mugged outside her home in Chadderton. He stole her purse then fled the scene.

On May the 19th at 12:11pm it was also reported that thieves broke into a bakery and new agents in Rochdale town centre. It is not clear what was taken but apparently they found nothing of value in the news agents so they tried their luck with the bakery!

In January at 3:40pm Manchester Evening News reported that Grindsmith coffee shop was broken into for the second time in days! It was first broken into early hours of Friday morning and then for the second time a few days later.

On the 8th of July a 70 year old lady tackled to thieves as they attempted to steal her cash box from her fancy dress shop in Stockport. Both men fled the scene and left empty handed, well done lady!

on July the 7th Manchester Evening News reported that 4 men jumped into the Mersey trying to get away from police after an attempted break in at a business in Stockport.

On the 3rd of July they reported that a landmark jewellers in Manchester was raided by two masked men who escaped with a handful of Rolex watches before getting away on a motorcycle

Again on the 3rd of July Manchester Evening News reported that a taxi driver was punched in the face after cab ran over a teenage girl outside a nightclub in Bolton

On the 2nd of July a man was caught trying to steal a bin lorry in Salford which failed as he stalled the vehicle upon his getaway.

The 29th of June Police warned after thieves were reported breaking into a home through a kitchen window in Blackley where they also ransacked the property.

What you can do to boost your security 



All crimes reported in this article are only a tiny proportion of the true figures in 2015. Many homes, businesses and venues have been targeted by thieves and vandals.
