Improve Shelf Food Life - Advanced Air Hygiene

Advanced Air Hygiene have noticed how contaminated by bacteria, moulds, yeasts and viruses causes premature product spoilage. They have created a solution to help make shelf food last as long as possible through UV-C air hygiene solutions. This helps to reduce microbial contamination by up to 99 %.

There are many advantages to UV-C technology in the food industry. Some of these are:

  • Extended shelf life
  • Customer complaints are reduced
  • Fewer product returns
  • Improved freshness
  • Contributes to HACCP and improves hygiene standards
  • Quality assurance
  • Fewer product losses – more profit!

Disinfection systems from Advanced Air Hygiene work on a purely physical basis. They ensure effective and continuous disinfection. This dispenses with the need for chemical cleaners that harm the environment saves operators additional cleaning costs.

Their disinfection systems are incredibly low maintenance. As they near the end of their life, Advanced Air Hygiene will be pleased to attend to their replacement to ensure constant, optimal disinfection, allowing you to continue getting the best air disinfection possible.

They currently work in the following industries:

Keeping Healthy - Advanced Air Hygiene LTD

Keeping healthy and illness free is on everyones agenda. No one likes getting ill. However, viruses and germs linger in the air we breath in so sometimes you can't avoid catching something. There have been options to keep you workplace virus free through products such as the F7 filter. However,  F7 filters are no use here as they are too coarsely meshed allowing viruses to pass through them. UV-C radiation is the only way to specifically inactivate viruses and prevent their transmission via circulating air in buildings. Advanced Air Hygiene LTD offer a solution. They offer a range of air disinfection units to help keep the air in your environment clean and virus free.

Depending on whether your rooms are ventilated or not, will determine what unit you should have.

Ventilated Rooms
Installation of the AirStream UV-C disinfection unit in the ventilation system inactivates any viruses.

Unventilated Rooms
In unventilated rooms we recommend the use of the disinfection unit AirCom O2. It goes without saying that all other micro-organisms such as bacteria and moulds that can cause illnesses are also destroyed.
Keeping yourselves and your customers/patients healthy is vitally important and installing these systems will help keep everyone in the best health possible.

The Benefits of Air Hygiene in the Food Industry

Food hygiene is crucial to everyone's health so it's of crucial importance specific measures and systems are put in place to ensure high standards of hygiene is always met for everyone.

Systems such as air hygiene can provide the correct air disinfection using UV technology. They use germicidal effect of UV-C radiation which effectively prevents the microbial build up found in air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

The systems will improve the health of your staff and customers and the hygiene of your food products, increasing the shelf life of food during the food processing stages and storage. The systems will also help to improve the HVAC efficiency.

How does UV-C technology improve health?

When air is contaminated with microbes in the ventilation systems it can cause health problems. UV-C air hygiene systems prevent this from happening by reducing the concentration of microbes and endotoxins by up to 99%!

Advantages of UV-C air hygiene to health:
  • 40% fewer respiratory problems **
  • 30% fewer mucous membrane problems **
  • 50% fewer complaints about muscle pains **
  • Fewer absences due to illness **
  • Healthier staff **

How does UV-C air hygiene improve shelf life?

Food is spoiled when the air is contaminated with bacteria, moulds, yeasts and viruses. The UV-C air hygiene solutions prevent this from happening by reducing the microbial contamination by up to 99%.

Advantages of UV-C Technology to the food industry:

            • Extended shelf life
            • Customer complaints are reduced
            • Fewer product returns
            • Improved freshness
            • Contributes to HACCP and improves hygiene standards
            • Quality assurance
            • Fewer product losses - more profit!

How does UV-C air hygiene improve HVAC efficiency?

Air contaminated by bacteria, moulds, yeasts and viruses causes microbial build-up on the heat exchange plates, primary condensate drain pans and intermediate drain pans of the cooling coils and eliminator sections in air handling units. This problem also affects the system ductwork, resulting in increased resistance to air flow and a loss in thermal efficiency.

The UV-C air hygiene solutions from Advanced Air Hygiene will help to prevent the microbial build up by reducing the contamination up to 99% on a recurring basis.

HVAC Advantages of UV-C preventing microbial build up

            • Improves Heat Transfer
            • Reduced Compressor run time
            • Reduced Compressor maintenance
            • Compressor life increased
            • HVAC system life increased
            • Net cooling capacity improved
            • Thermal comfort increased
The following benefits can also be realised:

            • Lower density filters can be used
            • Between a 10-20% reduction in energy consumption
            • Can go for years without cleaning coils, drain pans & ductwork, which can be a significant cost saving.

Advanced Air Hygiene have provided their UV-C air hygiene solutions to a vast range of industries including butchery and meat, bakery, fruit and veg, fish, dairy, health, elite sports facilities, modular buildings, oil industry and ventilation and air conditioning across the UK and Internationally.

If you would like to know about how you can improve the health of your staff and customers, increase the shelf life of your food and more through air hygiene please visit aahygiene.com

UV Technology for the Meat and Butchers Industry

Within the meat and butchers industry you will find that meat and other food products become contaminated due to micro-organisms that cause spoilage spreading through the air which can be prevented by using disinfection system.

The systems use UV-C emitters with a primary emission wave length of 253.7nm and have an advantage over other systems because they produce no ozone. Below is a typical example of a hygiene problem occurring with an effective solution:

            Problem 1:

One of many hygiene problems: In a climatised room for raw meat such as lamb, beef and pork, coatings and mould often appear on the product surfaces. This leads to mycel formation and a musty, mouldy smell. The personnel costs and waste incurred for washing or trimming these meats can be extremely high.

            Our Solution:

Installation of a UV-C disinfection unit specially designed for simple wall or ceiling mounting in small rooms, for example AirTube C and AirWetech , or AirStream C for larger rooms. These units have an integrated ventilator and work continuously around the clock. If an evaporator cooler is installed in the store room or cool room, our AirTube or AirStream V can also be deployed. The Compact lamp IP 65 can also be integrated directly in ripening facilities.

The result is virtually no more coating on the products and no formation of mould. This removes the need for chemical treatment of the products as well as saving money and being good for customers' health.

You can purchase these unique UV-C systems from Advanced Air Hygiene who specialise in UV technology and air disinfection. Their systems uses a germicidal effect of UV-C radiation which prevents the micro-build up which travels through the air and particularly air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Advanced Air Hygiene are able to provide their effective air hygiene systems to anyone in the UK and Europe. Please visit aahygiene.com for more information or to contact them direct.
