How do you know if you are suitable for a Buttock Lipo Augmentation?
Usually, if a patient is overweight or wears an eight to 12 dress size, she is probably best suited for transfer and perhaps some liposuction. Thin patients who wear size two to four dresses are usually not good candidates for fat transfer because they do not have enough fat to spare.
How is this procedure done?
Fat transfer is done by taking fat from areas like the stomach, flanks, (the “love handles”) hips, lower back or thighs as this fat is usually not desired by the patient. The fat is gently removed with the water assisted liposuction device that uses a saline to “wash” the fat out of the area and collected by a thin cannula (the suction tube) to protect live fat cells. The “live” fat cella are then injected back into the muscle layers of the buttocks through one very small incision. How much fat is needed?
Each patient is different. However the amount of fat required for each buttock is an average of about 250 to 350 cc of pure fat. So, for both sides, that equals about 700 cc which is about ½ to about ¾ of a pound of fat.
How long is the recovery?
The liposuction incisions are tiny, just enough to allow the suction wand, or cannula, to go under the skin and take out the fat that Re-Enhance work with. However, your buttocks won’t feel any discomfort at all. After the procedure, you must wear a body garment for 6-8 weeks. You can go back to work after around 10 days.
