Casement and Sash Windows from GBS Joinery

Casement Windows

Casement Windows are traditionally found in smaller, older properties such as cottages. They are made up of a simple design and construction that add charm and character to any home.
Replacement frames can be rebated to accept double glazing and are draught stripped. They are made from Swedish redwood, vacuum treated with preservative or hardwood.
All new frames are constructed with mortice and tenon joints. Any style of existing frame can be reproduced, along with moldings, cills and weather bars.

Sash Windows

Sash windows have been used in various forms for over 200 years. Gbs Joinery intend to continue the tradition of boxed frame construction with pulleys, cords and weights.
They are able to reproduce any existing style of frame to a beautiful standard, sash horns, mouldings and any combination of glazing bars.
With new lead weights, sliding sash windows can be double glazed. A brush pile draught strip is fitted to the edges of the sashes which assists the sliding action and prevents rattles. They will be made from Swedish Redwood vacuum treated with hardwood cills.
A full range of sash fittings are available including fitch fasteners, finger lifts, sash eyes with hook & pole and security locks. New lead or salvaged cast weights are also available!
