The work carried out by Rachelfield LTD is to install traffic signals, maintain them and junctions within the Greater Manchester area which means Rachelfield will be working with 10 different local authorities. 

Siemens deal with everything from traffic control, congestion charging and low emission zone solutions to managed services, hosting, eticketing and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. 

Also in connection with the Greater Manchester area, Rachelfield are in responsible for supply traffic signal installations for the new Metrolink Project. By the end of this project Rachelfield will have installed 83 junctions and crossings within 6 different local authorities.

Health and Safety of Traffic Signal Installation

To ensure the safety of the public, installation staff and drivers of vehicles, it is imperative health and safety procedures are in place when installing traffic signals and detector loops. 
These procedures that are put in place are measured by adequate working space, warning signs, means of access and lighting must also be provided. The risk of gas leaks can occur so safety measure and procedures should be in place incase this risk does arise, any sign of gas the gas board should be contacted immediately.
