UK Hair Transplant Clinics have some of the best hair surgeons in the UK. They have clinics across the country. You should never be further than about 1 hour from a clinic.
Here are a few questions that are often asked about hair transplants, including questions about the process, the look, after care and cost.
Is Follicular Unit Transplantation permanent? Does it really work?
Transplanted hair behaves in a similar way to the hair where it was taken from. It will last a lifetime for most people or at least into old age when the procedure is done correctly. We simply re-distribute existing permanent hair to your thin areas. Sometimes in old age one may experience hair thinning throughout the donor area. If this happens then the transplanted hair will follow suit.
Does it look natural?
Yes. Carefully and skillfully performed Follicular Unit Hair Transplants look very natural, and with single hair follicular unit grafts a natural-looking regular hairline is attainable. It is almost impossible for a lay person or even a hairdresser to detect.
Does Follicular Unit Transplantation leave scars?
The art of a hair transplant is to conceal the scars. When performed by skilled surgeons, Follicular Unit Hair Transplants will only be detected by thorough expert medical examination. The donor site however will have a very fine scar completely hidden by your hair. The technique of trichophytic donor closure is now rendering donor scars extremely difficult to detect even with no covering hair. Having said that, we would not recommend shaving the back of the head because healing and scarring can vary from person to person.
Will I need time off work after my surgery?
This depends on your type of work. If you don’t have a physical or strenuous job, medically you can generally go back to work after just a couple of days, otherwise return after 7. The other consideration is from a cosmetic view. If you do not have sufficient hair to cover the donor site or if you are very concerned about anyone knowing, then its probably best to have your surgery just before a week’s holiday or so. You will be able to wear a hat immediately after surgery. The sun will not damage your grafts, but as your scalp will still be numb you need to wear a hat to avoid sunburning your scalp.
When will I notice any growth from my new hair?
The initial hair that is transplanted will normally fall out within the 1st 8 weeks and the new hair growth will break through skin after 3 months after the procedure. However, it can take up to 6-8 months for the new hair to make a significant cosmetic difference to your appearance. Hair continues to mature for over 12 months after surgery.
Can anybody have a Follicular Unit Transplant?
Yes, except for hemophiliacs and people with significant or relevant medical conditions. Sometimes, although physically you can have a transplant, the surgeon may advise against it for a variety of reasons including your young age, future hair loss considerations, high expectations, etc.
How long will it take before I achieve what I’m looking for?
Our hair transplants will generally restore 25-35% of the original density in the treated area of the scalp after one operation. For most this is sufficient to give a good hair coverage. It is generally not possible to achieve greater than 50% density even after a 2nd treatment.
Is the surgery expensive?
Not when compared to alternative treatments. Of course there is a cost involved, but the naturalness of growing your own hair makes hair transplants much more cost effective.
Remember that there are no other expenses involved afterwards. No lotions or chemicals to buy continually. No wigs or hairpieces to be continually maintained serviced and replaced. So in the long run, hair transplants are not only the most natural solution; they can also be the cheapest. Although a rough estimate of cost can be given from good photos, the cost in detail can only be worked out after examining your scalp and assessing your hair loss at the consultation with one of the doctors. Treatments start from £1900.
Is there any special aftercare following hair transplant surgery?
It is extremely important to follow the aftercare procedures of the hair transplant surgery. During the first night following the surgery, the grafts are still sensitive and could fall out of the incisions if touched or manipulated. Avoid pulling shirts over the head. Do not brush, comb, rub, or even touch the transplanted hair for at least 24 hours after the surgery.
Physical activity should be avoided as much as possible in the first week following surgery. This includes refraining from sexual activity and rapid movements of the head. Patients should not bend forward, shake their head, or blow their nose too strongly. These activities could result in the loosening of the grafts.
It is important that patients take the full dose of the medications prescribed by the surgical team. Even if patients are not experiencing pain or swelling, they must take the full dosage of medication.
Patients may also experience crusting around the grafted follicles. This is completely normal and the crusts will fall off on their own around a week after surgery. It is important that patients refrain from picking at the crusted area. Picking could result in the removal of grafts.
Patients will need to return to the surgical site to have their stitches removed about two weeks after the surgery. The surgical team will check the healing progress to ensure a healthy recovery.

Hair Transplant - UK Hair Transplant Clinics
There are a number of options for those who have lost their hair. UK Hair Transplant Clinics offer surgical solutions for those who want to regain their hair after hair loss. UK Hair Transplant Clinics have some of the best hair surgeons in the UK who can help you to regain the confidence you've lost and help you to bring your hair back.
UK Hair believe that the only way you can possibly achieve the results you want or the best results possible is by meeting face to face with one of their consultant surgical assistants for a free assessment. This appointment can be held at your local clinic, most of which are no more than a 60 minute journey from your homes or workplace. During the session a member of their surgical team will perform a series of surgeon derived microscopic diagnostic tests on the area that is concerning you from so the correct treatment plan can be devised. With so many options to help with hair loss, UK Hair want to ensure you get offered the best treatment for you, so you don't waste your time or money.
Your treatment plan is highly dependent on the condition of the follicles in the recipient area, or the area in which treatment is deemed to be required. If the follicles in this region are dead then a hair transplant is the only course of action available to successfully regenerate the coverage in this area.
However, if the follicles are dying then a transplant is not the right treatment. Instead you could be offered a course of medication to regenerate miniaturised hairs and improve the quality and thickness of existing and regenerated hairs.
Follicular vitality is the key to determining the most appropriate treatment. Healthy follicles produce full hairs which are visible to the naked eye. Expiring follicles which are under attack by DHT produce miniaturised hairs that can only be seen under a high resolution clinical microscope.
Dead follicles produce no hairs and leave a space in which a more robust DHT resistant follicle can be implanted during a hair transplant.
UK Hair Transplant Clinics would love to help you with your hair loss and help give you a solution. Contact them today to book your free local consultation to find out how they can help you.

Avoiding Hair Loss in Women | UK Hair Transplants
Many women across the world will be familiar with hair thinning throughout different periods of your life. As you get older, hair thinning is a naturally occurring part of our lives which is often overlooked. But there are ways to try and avoid it before it becomes a real problem.
Women tend to feel the pressure on a much higher scale than men to look immaculate at all times. For some of us, it can be difficult to keep up. It seems that a natural part of being a woman is the need to constantly improve on your own appearance. To achieve this, many of us go for products such as hair weaves and extensions. Wearing extensions can be extremely damaging to your hair, especially if you opt for weaves or glue in extensions. These products cause your hair to constantly be pulling right near the follicle. Over time, this can be extremely damaging to the follicle, causing it to strain and thin your hair and could, eventually, lead to the follicle dying all together, leaving you with bald patches and hair loss.

Stress can also be a huge factor into hair loss, especially in women. Although it can be difficult to control the stresses we come across in all day to day life, the way that we deal with them is extremely important. When we become too overwhelmed by ongoing stress, it beings to affect our immune systems. If you undergo a large amount of ongoing stress, this can begin to affect the production rate of your hair, causing it to thin out. If it continues, you could go on to develop stress induced Alopecia.
Something else that can affect the thickness of your hair, believe it or not, is tying your hair back to often. Constantly having your hair tied up has a similar effect on your hair to that of wearing extensions and weaves. Your hair is being pulled back by your hair tie and is straining on the follicle, often causing hairs to be pulled out.
Hair loss in women is something that often goes unspoken. As there's such a huge pressure on us to live up to the celebrity standards. Having thick, shining locks can be something that's hard to keep up with. But spending hundreds of pounds every 2-3 months on extensions and wefts does not erase the problem, in fact, it will speed up the process. Do you suffer from hair loss? Visit UK Hair Transplants today and say goodbye to your hair loss, for good.

Stop your hair loss before it leads to baldness
With recent technology and continuously developed techniques, means that hair loss does not have to lead to balding and can be prevented within the early stages. The process of hair loss is natural and cannot be prevented, however when noticed early it can be treated and therefore prevention of further hair loss can now be achieved with a number of solutions.
As hair loss is a complex polygenic trait and is caused by the interplay between genes, up to 5 genes are responsible for baldness and determine the specifics of male pattern hair loss. You can find out more information of the causes of hair loss by clicking here.
So how can we treat hair loss before it results in baldness?
There are a number of solutions to consider, all of which will depend on how server your hair loss condition is. The right treatment can be determined in a hair loss assessment at a professional clinic, we do advise that you find a reputable clinic and in the UK as many patients have faced complications by opting for cheaper solutions abroad.
Hair loss treatment option 1 - Minoxidil
There is a 5% version available over the counter and is more commonly known as Regaine. The Minoxidil at 5% has been reviewed by patients as not very successful, resulting in the patients seeking further solutions and consultation.
Patients that have tried to treat their condition with Minoxidil are often amazed at the results afforded by a course of Finasteride which both improves the aesthetic appearance of existing hair and halts hair loss for those follicles which have not yet been killed by DHT.
Hair Loss Treatment option 2 - Finasteride
Sadly Finasteride is not suitable for women, however it is an effective treatment for men and has been created to treat mild to moderate male pattern hair loss on the top of the head.
This tablet form of medication can be taken daily and many patients have used this treatment for a period of up to 10 years. There is in fact over 1 million men using this drug in the US alone who have said that it has improved the thickness of their hair resulting in better confidence and self esteem.
There are over 10 million users worldwide using this hair loss treatment who are satisfied with its results and for prolonging the life of their hair.
In a 2 year study by a panel of independent dermatologists globally, gave their results on Finasteride which were:
99% of patients had no further hair loss and 67% of patients were able to grow new hair with increased coverage.
Hair Loss Treatment option 3 - Hair Transplant Surgery
Hair transplants seem to be the most permanent and effective option for hair loss and can completely transform someones image and confidence. There are different procedures and techniques involved, the suitable treatment for you would be determined in a hair loss consultation to access the area and condition. The two main procedures which hair transplants fall into are FUE transplantation and Strip or FUT transplantation.
FUT which stands for Follicular Unit Transplant uses a technique which extracts of a narrow piece of skin from the donor site under local anaesthetic. Once removed, the strip of skin is dissected under powerful laboratory microscopes into individual follicular units in preparation for implantation.
FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction and refers to the technique via which a small round punch is used to extract units of hair follicles one by one from an area of dense hair growth to an area of baldness. Each unit contains one to four hairs. Extraction is directly from the scalp.
There is also a new revolutionised hair transplant procedure now available known as the Maxi hair transplant which is regarded as the most effective of all 3. You can find out more about maxi hair transplants by clicking here.
The cost of hair transplants will depend on the type of procedure you opt for and how many follicles you will need replacing which will then determine whether you need a Strip transplant of an FUE transplant. We have found that UK Hair Transplant Clinics, who are the UK's leading hair restoration clinic are currently running a promotion offer with savings of between £1000 and £2000. Visit ukhairtransplantclinics.co.uk/cost-of-hair-transplants to find out more about the different prices for each procedure and treatment.

Do women prefer men with hair?
Do women prefer men with hair? I have tried to find research studies to give me statistics as to what a woman's preference is, bald or hair? Sadly the information I have found is inconclusive, women don't have a clue what they want.
So instead I decided to do my own small study in my work place. I asked the only four females I work with what do they prefer men with hair or without and all four said they prefer men with hair. So there we have ladies and gentlemen 4/4, women prefer men with hair!
Let's take a look at why. Here we have a range of photos of men who have lost their hair then undergone hair transplant surgery, although we cannot see their faces we don't really need to to determine whether they look better bald or with hair so time to judge...
without hair or with hair?
Without hair or with hair?
Without hair or with hair ?
without hair or with hair?
without hair or with hair?
You may find men with bald or less hair irresistibly attractive or you may find them a huge turn off. Each to their own ladies, I mean look at Jason Statham he's beautiful. Not all men are movie stars but you can have movie star locks, it's not over yet! For affordable hair transplants and solutions visit ukhairtransplantclinics.co.uk who could save you between £1000 and £2000 off your UK hair transplant surgery.

"No man wants to be bald" Calum Best reveals hair transplant
Calum Best reveals 'life-changing' hair transplant.
Calum Best has revealed the results of his third hair transplant and he's not ruling out a fourth if his hair continues to fall out. The son of late football legend George Best, has had three £6,000 procedures in the last two years to keep hold of his hair, since suffering from hair loss that started in his early twenties.
The male model says that his thinning locks completely destroyed his confidence to the point where he could see no way out but a third operation. He stated "without the surgical help, I would have lost most of the hair at the front of my scalp by now... There is no doubt this has changed my life. I have been losing my hair since my early 20s."
Hair transplant tech has improved so much in the last five years that Calum has been able to keep hold of all his hair and even wear it the same way he did when he was in his teens!
Calum could have further hindered his hair loss issue earlier by taking a clinically proven hair loss drug but wanted to find the quickest solution which was a hair loss transplant.
If you're wondering how a hair transplant could re-build your confidence, how much they cost or simply whether you're suitable, visit ukhairtransplantclinics.co.uk today.

Male hair loss.
Baguley’s of Cheshire offer non-surgical treatments for
male hair loss. They have a really extensive range of hair systems to suit your
every need:
- Custom made bespoke invisible lace hair systems.
- Non surgical invisible permanent application hair
system, lasting up to 3 to 5 weeks.
- Private room one to one consultations and fittings.
Most men usually lose hair as they age. So when hair loss
hits you in your youth or at any age, it can be devastating. Possibly bringing
unhappiness into your relationships and socialising with friends. The truth is,
thinning can occur at any age, particularly a receding hairline or the crown
area, or both. Even though it may be unnoticeable to most people, it can make
you very self conscious.
Baguley's non surgical hair replacement is very different
to just ordinary ready made mens hair pieces. A copy (template) of your scalp
thinning area will be made, Baguley's will then create a bespoke hair system
that is invisibly fixed for 5 to 6 weeks into your head to hide the problem
area. With directional partings and invisible single hair follicles in the
hairline. The systems are made from the best high quality human hair, so can be
treated normally, it can be washed, styled and even dyed as you please!
You may of seen in news articles and television of
celebrities and stars having and using this secret for years to retain a
natural looking full head of hair. The systems stay affixed on your head so you
don’t have to do any maintenance yourself. You simply pop back every 3 to 5
weeks as you would to visit your regular hairdresser. Your existing hair will
be trimmed and styled, then the system will be reattached. Wigs can become hot,
uncomfortable and itchy, but this never happens to hair systems, they are
discrete and handmade to your exact specifications. You hair colour will be
matched perfectly, even if it means mixing different hair colour tones together
to achieve this.
