Children with hair loss - Handmade Wigs and Hairpieces

Sydney's Story - Children's Wigs

Each month we give you a story from a parent whose child has lost their hair due to chemotherapy or alopecia and how Christopher Baguley helps them to transform their confidence and self-esteem with his bespoke hair loss solutions which includes handmade wigs and hairpieces.

Christopher Baguley is a registered member of Little Princess Trust who commission him to create wigs or hairpieces for their children with hair loss at his hair loss salon in Cheshire. The Little Princess Trust pay for the solution so it's completely free for the parents and Chris uses only the highest quality human hair and Swiss lace to tie the wigs. In some cases human hair is donated by donors or even the child's parent.

Although each child's story has a happy ending and we see them smiling once again, the journey each child goes through and their parents is utterly heartbreaking. This month we have a story from Sydney who is a 5 year old little girl that has lost her hair due to alopecia.

Chris told us that Sydney sadly suffered from bullying because the other children thought she looked different without her hair. If you're like me, I can imagine you're filling up as you read this, no child should have to suffer from any condition or illness let alone be bullied for it.

Sydney's brave and loving mother donated her own hair so Chris could create a beautiful handmade wig for Sydney. Chris says the wig will be finished later this month as he putting all his care, focus and attention into creating something extra special for little Sydney.

Chris also tells us how happy he is to see Sydney smiling again and he cannot wait to show us the handmade wig he has made for her. We hope she loves it!

If you, a family member or friend suffers from hair loss whether it's due to age, illness, a condition or chemotherapy treatment, Chris can offer his bespoke hair loss solutions to you.

How Could I Help Children with Hair Loss? | Baguley's of Cheshire

Across the whole of the UK, there are hundreds of children every day who are dealing with the low self esteem and embarrassment they have to go through when dealing with hairloss. Whether it's through Alopecia or chemotherapy, losing your hair is never going to be easy.

So, what can we do to help? Something that is trending at the moment is long hair, girls and women everywhere are growing hair right to the bottom of their back for fashion purposes. That amount of hair could just change a little girls life. Baguley's of Cheshire are working with the Little Princess Trust to create wigs for children like Lucy & Beth.

Girls and women all over the UK are not only cutting off and donating their hair to the Little Princess Trust, but raising money in the process. Providing little girls with wigs and giving them back their confidence is a service which is provided completely free by the Little Princess Trust. However, unfortunately, the wigs are not free to make. This is why we need your donations, not only of hair, so that we can afford to continue making children like Lucy & Beth feel like themselves again.

Beth and Lucy were both thrilled with their new wigs. Lucy's mother said that after she got her wig, a wave of confidence came over her, which was like looking at her before she even got ill, which was very uplifting for the whole family, to see her acting like any other 15 year old.

Beth was also delighted with her new wig and said it's like her old her but better! Both girls feel more beautiful and a lot happier since getting their new wigs, which is something we hope to continue doing for girls all across the UK.

If you feel that you could help girls like Beth & Lucy to regain their confidence, whether it be through donating hair, money or hosting charity events, or even just to find out more about the Little Princess Trust and Beth & Lucy's stories, visit Baguley's of Cheshire today!

Children's Wigs - Devon's Story

We have been publishing articles on our blogger for Baguley's of Cheshire who designs and creates handmade wigs and toupees for men and women who have lost their hair, but more recently Baguley's of Cheshire have widened their services to provide for children who have also sadly lost their hair.

They are now a registered member of Little Princess Trust who commission them to create wigs and hairpieces for the children who have sadly lost their hair due to chemotherapy and cancer treatment and also alopecia. Baguley's will design a wig or hairpiece based on the clients requirements and wishes, which is completely free and paid for by Little Princess Trust, helping hundreds of families across the UK.

Here we have a recent story from another little angel named Beth who is 15 years old. Her lovely mum was kind enough to provide Chris with a very appreciative testimonial and images. We hope this shows you how much Chris Baguley and his hair loss services help not only adults but children and he is the reason they are now confident and smiling again.

"We are delighted to have found Chris to provide a perfect solution for Beth’s hair loss. We had been facing this with total fear and dread but Chris eased our worries from the outset. He was knowledgable and reassuring from the first time we spoke to him.

Throughout the process Chris was attentive and very sensitive but didn’t dodge some of the tricky conversations we needed to have to come up with the perfect solution. We felt safe in his care throughout and our trust was well placed.

The result is that Beth is completely delighted with her new hair; she says it’s just like her old hair but better! She is now facing the world with confidence which is invaluable.

Chris has been a help and support to us beyond words and we will always be so grateful to him. Thank you!

Thank you!!!" - Mrs Charlton

As you can see the images are heart warming, and Beth's beautiful smile says it all. If you would like to make a donation to Little Princess Trust you can donate money or your hair please visit www.littleprincesses.org.uk

Wigs for Children - Lucy's Story

Last month we told you about the heart warming story of Lucy, a girl aged 15 who has lost her hair due to chemotherapy and radio therapy treatment which caused permanent hair loss. At the time we published our last article we only had a few pictures and words from Chris Baguley, who is responsible for creating these beautiful handmade wigs for children like Lucy for Little Princess Trust.

This month we have a full testimonial from Lucy's mum along with pictures to show the level of detail and quality that has gone into making her new hair. This level and quality is always achieved in Chris's work which he usually provides to men and women with hair loss at his salon in Cheshire, however after becoming a registered member of Little Princess Trust he is now able to provide his skills to children under 18 with hair loss.

Little Princess Trust pay Chris to create wigs or hairpieces using 100% human hair for the children so their parents do not have to, helping hundreds of families across the UK.

Here we would like to share Lucy's story through photos to show you not only how brave and wonderful this little lady is but also how talented Chris is and that he can help anyone like Lucy no matter what age they are with their hair loss.

Thank you Chris!

Here is the lovely and wonderful testimonial from Lucy's mum...

"Lucy was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour in 2009 aged 9 , and since then has endured surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Fortunately she is now in remission and is enjoying life to the full again. She lost all her hair during treatment and when it started to grow back post-treatment it became apparent that it was not going to grow back on the back of her head where the radiotherapy had been concentrated. Her hair grew over the bald patch, but is very thin and she is now a very self conscious teenager who is reluctant to look in the mirror, embarrassed to tie her hair up or experiment with hairstyles with her peers. Such low self esteem is a common phenomenon after cancer treatment.

Lucy had previously considered hair extensions but this would not have concealed the bald area at the back of her head. When we first met Chris, he very sensitively discussed all the options that could help solve Lucy’s particular hair loss problem and recommended she try the lace hair piece which would cover the baldness, and return the volume to her hair . Over a couple of consultations the hair piece was prepared and she was fitted with the finished product a couple of weeks ago. It looks amazing- as a mother it was like looking again at Lucy before she became ill which was extremely emotional but very up-lifting!! Lucy is absolutely thrilled- she can style her hair as she wishes without being worried about the bald area or the thinness of her hair. It looks completely natural as it is virgin hair, and matches her existing hair. It is very comfortable to wear and she got used to it very quickly. She has washed and styled it and is no longer reluctant to look in a mirror. She is now like any other 15 year old- and her self esteem has returned overnight along with her smile!. I cannot thank Chris enough for helping Lucy so sensitively and positively . He is always available if she has any concerns with the hair piece. A bonus is that he is connected with an amazing charity, the Little Princess Trust, which supports the cost of wigs and hair loss solutions for the parents of children suffering hair loss/baldness. They kindly liaised with Chris to manage the funding.

I would recommend Chris to anyone suffering hair loss problems-Lucy has her smile back as the photos show!!! Thank you so much Chris -we are so grateful for your expertise *:) happy*:) happy
